Overview
Curro is seeking to appoint 2 Bus Drivers to join its school operations at Northriding College and Courtney House. These positions are ideal for responsible and safety-conscious individuals who are passionate about learner safety and are willing to support school operations beyond driving duties.
Successful candidates will be responsible for transporting learners safely while also assisting with general maintenance, gardening, facility support, and ensuring a safe, well-maintained school environment.

Key Responsibilities
Learner Transport
– Safely transport learners along designated school routes according to scheduled times.
– Pick up and drop off learners at approved collection and drop-off points.
– Transport learners and staff on school excursions and educational trips.
– Maintain discipline and ensure learner safety while transporting passengers.
– Plan travel routes and stops for school-related transport when required.
General Maintenance
- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs across the school.
- Conduct daily inspections of school facilities.
- Perform basic maintenance work, including minor plumbing and repairs.
- Report maintenance issues requiring specialist attention.
- Maintain maintenance tools and equipment.
- Assist with access control, security support, and traffic management around the school.
Garden Maintenance
- Maintain lawns, gardens, and flower beds.
- Keep outdoor areas neat, clean, and presentable.
- Monitor gardening equipment and consumables.
- Report gardening requirements to the Facilities Manager.
Health and Safety
- Perform daily safety inspections of the assigned school bus.
- Report mechanical faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Check fuel, oil, tyres, batteries, and vehicle condition.
- Keep the bus clean and roadworthy at all times.
- Participate in safety drills and attend health and safety training sessions.
Administration
- Complete mileage logs and transport records.
- Record passenger counts and vehicle usage reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation relating to vehicle operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Grade 12 (Matric) is advantageous.
- Valid EC1 or C1 Driver’s Licence (Heavy Motor Vehicle up to 16 000 kg).
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Fluent in English.
- Previous experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle will be an advantage.
- Must be willing and able to perform general maintenance and facility support duties.
- Willingness to work overtime when operationally required.
