Overview

Pick n Pay is hiring over 20 friendly and efficient Checkout Assistants to provide a seamless customer experience at our stores across South Africa. This position is key in ensuring that customers are welcomed, assisted, and checked out with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

-Greet customers according to company protocol

-Scan and process purchases accurately using the POS system

-Assist customers with product locations, benefits, and promotions

-Respond to queries and escalate issues where necessary

-Maintain a clean and organised checkout area

-Promote loyalty programs and in-store offers

-Prevent shrinkage, errors, and fraud by following standard procedures

-Balance till and manage cash transactions efficiently

-Uphold Pick n Pay’s customer service and communication standards

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 (Grade 12 advantageous)
• Strong numerical and communication skills
• Basic computer literacy (advantageous)
• Customer-focused with a positive attitude
• Willing and able to work retail shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Assertive, ethical, and professional
