Overview
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is inviting applications for a Cleaner position at Malmesbury CDC. This role is ideal for individuals with cleaning experience in a healthcare environment who are committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities
– Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and dusting
– Clean windows, walls, and clinic facilities to maintain hygiene standards
– Handle and dispose of waste according to health and safety regulations
– Maintain cleanliness of all areas within the clinic
– Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and materials
– Support waste management and infection control practices
– Assist with general housekeeping duties and linen care
– Adhere to occupational health and safety policies at all times
– Attend in-service training as required
– Provide support to the Operational Manager when needed
Requirements & Skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy (ABET Level 1)
- Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare facility
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work at other clinics within the sub-district
Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary: R138 486 โ R163 131 per annum
