Overview

McDonald’s is recruiting Crew Members for six listed opportunities across South Africa. These positions offer candidates an opportunity to gain practical experience in customer service, food preparation, cash handling and restaurant operations while working as part of a fast-paced team.

Crew Members perform a variety of duties throughout the restaurant, including preparing customer orders, operating tills, serving customers, maintaining cleanliness and assisting with stock.

The opportunities include full-time and part-time positions, with both permanent and fixed-term employment available depending on the location.

Key Responsibilities

Successful Crew Members may be responsible for:

– Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.

– Provide helpful and efficient customer service.

– Take customer orders accurately.

– Operate cash registers or computer-based Point of Sale (POS) systems.

– Process cash, debit card and credit card payments.

– Prepare and cook customer orders according to McDonald’s procedures.

– Use restaurant kitchen equipment safely and correctly.

– Manage multiple orders while maintaining accuracy.

– Prepare, wrap, bag or box food according to customer orders.

– Check that orders are complete and correctly packaged before serving.

– Serve orders to customers at counters, tables or collection windows.

– Ensure prepared food meets McDonald’s quality standards.

– Store food correctly to maintain quality and freshness.

– Maintain clean, hygienic and safe kitchen and service areas.

– Work efficiently across different restaurant stations when required.

– Support other Crew Members during busy periods.

– Assist with stock counts and general restaurant duties.

Requirements and Skills

Candidates should generally have:

• Matric / Grade 12 for the Kimberley opportunity.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Good attention to detail when preparing and packaging orders.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy periods.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• A positive and professional attitude when dealing with customers.
