About the Clicks Shop Assistant / Cashier Jobs
The main purpose of this position is to provide excellent customer service while supporting till operations, merchandising and general store activities.
Successful candidates will assist customers, accurately process purchases, handle payments safely, promote the Clicks ClubCard and help ensure that merchandise is presented according to store standards.
This is also a good opportunity for applicants who do not have extensive retail experience, as previous customer-facing retail/FMCG experience is desirable and is not listed as an essential requirement.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants need:
- Grade 12 โ essential.
- Basic maths and numeracy abilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Planning and organisational skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- An understanding of customer service excellence.
- Knowledge of retail/FMCG, merchandising and promotions would be useful.
- An understanding of stock-management procedures would be beneficial.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail/FMCG environment is desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier at Clicks, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing point-of-sale transactions efficiently.
- Accurately scanning merchandise and collecting customer payments.
- Handling cash safely.
- Processing Clicks ClubCard rewards.
- Promoting the Clicks ClubCard to customers.
- Enrolling new ClubCard members.
- Informing customers about current promotions.
- Providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Acting as a Clicks brand ambassador.
- Completing merchandising activities.
- Maintaining general housekeeping and store presentation standards.
- Keeping up to date with products, ranges, promotions and events.
- Providing customers with accurate product and promotional information.
- Supporting Clicks’ goal of being customers’ first-choice health and beauty retailer.
