Job Overview

The Department of Defence is looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to help maintain clean, safe and hygienic working environments within military health facilities. Successful candidates will perform cleaning and housekeeping duties in offices, boardrooms, kitchens, restrooms and other designated areas.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

-Clean offices, corridors and boardrooms.

-Sweep, scrub, mop, wax and vacuum floors.

-Dust and polish office furniture.

-Clean walls, windows and doors.

-Empty and clean waste bins.

-Collect and dispose of waste.

-Clean kitchens and wash kitchen utensils.

-Clean restrooms and replenish soap, toilet paper and hand towels.

-Maintain cleaning equipment and materials.

-Report faulty cleaning equipment.

-Request and collect cleaning supplies from stores.

-Keep work areas neat and hygienic at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • ABET qualification.
  • No previous work experience required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety.
  • Willingness to work shifts when required.
