Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting Cashiers and Casual Cashiers for 9 job posts across South Africa.
Successful candidates will work at the point of sale, processing customer purchases and payments while delivering professional and efficient customer service.
The role requires a high level of accuracy, honesty and attention to detail, as Cashiers are responsible for handling cash, card payments, vouchers, loyalty programmes and other forms of payment.
For the Jeffreys Bay vacancy provided, applicants require Grade 12/Matric and at least six months of cashier or till-operation experience.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome and assist customers professionally at the point of sale.
– Process customer purchases accurately using the Dis-Chem operating system.
– Receive and process cash payments.
– Process debit and credit card transactions.
– Process vouchers, coupons and other approved payment methods.
– Process applicable loyalty and rewards cards.
– Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
– Handle refunds and exchanges when authorised.
– Ensure price changes and line voids are approved by a supervisor.
– Maintain responsibility for cash held in the till.
– Place cash in the drop safe according to company procedures.
– Keep till codes and passwords secure.
– Ensure all outgoing merchandise is scanned and paid for.
– Respond to basic customer queries about store merchandise.
– Remain informed about current promotions and sales.
– Report customer complaints and compliments to the appropriate supervisor.
– Identify and report suspicious behaviour.
– Maintain confidentiality when handling daily takings.

Minimum Requirements

- Grade 12 / Matric.
- At least 6 months of cashier or till-operation experience.
