Overview

BUCO is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Merchandiser to join its White River branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining attractive product displays, supporting sales growth, managing stock presentation, and delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring merchandising standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

– Maintain and grow the customer base through excellent service.

– Assist customers with product enquiries and recommendations.

– Achieve sales and gross profit targets.

– Merchandise stock according to company standards.

– Ensure products are displayed neatly and correctly.

– Follow up on customer quotations to maximise sales opportunities.

– Receive, check, and replenish stock.

– Return stock that has not been removed from designated locations.

– Report damaged, depleted, or missing stock.

– Assist with regular stock takes and inventory control.

– Support product promotions and in-store marketing activities.

– Maintain merchandising equipment and work areas.

– Complete administrative and reporting duties as required.

– Uphold BUCO’s values and company culture.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar merchandising or retail role.
• At least 1 year’s shelf-packing or merchandising experience.
• Knowledge of the building materials or hardware industry is essential.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
• Experience in identifying new business opportunities and converting enquiries into sales.
• Ability to coordinate and participate in stock takes.
• Good customer interaction and communication skills.
