Overview

BUCO is recruiting 3 Security Checkers to join its branches in Cape Town CBD, Kenton-on-Sea, and Vanderbijlpark. The successful candidates will be responsible for preventing theft, reducing stock losses, monitoring vehicles and customer purchases, and ensuring that all security procedures are followed to maintain a safe and secure retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

– Check all goods leaving the store and yard.

– Verify sales invoices, returns, and delivery documentation.

– Obtain signatures from credit customers where required.

– Monitor and verify cash customer collections.

– Inspect vehicles entering and leaving the premises.

– Control boom gate movements.

– Complete and maintain the visitors’ register daily.

– Report suspicious behaviour, theft, or security risks immediately.

– Help minimise stock shrinkage and prevent losses.

– Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous customer service.

– Uphold BUCO’s values, policies, and security procedures.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a hardware or similar retail environment.
• Good understanding of security procedures and stock control.
• Ability to work independently and remain alert.
• Strong attention to detail.
