About the Apprenticeship
The Apprentice Level 1 position is designed for an individual who has an interest and aptitude for motor vehicle repairs and wants to develop professionally towards becoming a Motor Mechanic Technician.
The apprentice will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining practical exposure to vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs while also attending prescribed technical training courses.
Minimum Requirements

- A clear criminal record

Key Responsibilities
The successful apprentice will assist with:
- Repairing vehicles under the instruction of a qualified Technician
- Removing and replacing vehicle parts and units
- Jacking up vehicles and correctly placing trestles
- Lubricating vehicles
- Changing oils under supervision according to manual specifications
- Removing and replacing wheels
- Removing and fitting air filters
- Removing and fitting oil filters
- Assisting technicians with vehicle repairs
- Removing and fitting batteries
- Cleaning vehicle parts
- Maintaining good workshop housekeeping
- Keeping tools and equipment clean and in good condition
- Keeping overalls and work areas clean
- Following workshop safety rules
- Attending prescribed technical and level courses
- Performing other reasonable duties when required
