Job Opportunity

Rand Water is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for its Public Service Administrator Learnership Programme (NQF Level 5).

This opportunity is aimed at developing administrative and public service skills while providing valuable workplace experience within one of South Africa’s largest water utilities.

The programme is designed to equip learners with practical knowledge and skills required for careers in administration, office management, customer service and public sector operations.

Overview

The Public Service Administrator Learnership combines structured learning with practical workplace exposure.

Successful candidates will gain experience in office administration, records management, customer service, communication, project support and digital office systems while working in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage office records, filing systems and correspondence

• Prepare reports, letters and official documents

• Handle incoming and outgoing mail

• Provide administrative support to departments

• Communicate professionally with clients, staff and members of the public

• Respond to queries, complaints and information requests

• Assist with meeting arrangements and scheduling

• Take minutes during meetings

• Support departmental projects and programmes

• Ensure compliance with public service policies and procedures

• Maintain confidentiality, integrity and accountability

• Capture data and maintain electronic records

• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and other office systems

• Prepare presentations and spreadsheets

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be unemployed

• Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID

• Be between 18 and 35 years old

• Not be studying towards any qualification

• Not be registered on any learnership programme

• Not possess any completed post-matric qualification

Educational Requirements

Applicants must have Grade 12 (Matric) with:

Option 1

• Mathematics (Level 4 or higher) OR Maths Literacy (Level 5 or higher)

• Physical Science (Level 4 or higher)

OR

Option 2

• Mathematics (Level 4 or higher) OR Maths Literacy (Level 5 or higher)

• Business Studies (Level 4 or higher)
