Overview
The Shop Assistant / Cashier role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, processing transactions at the point of sale, promoting loyalty programmes, maintaining merchandising standards and ensuring customers enjoy a positive shopping experience.
Successful candidates will receive valuable retail experience while working in a professional and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
โข Assist customers with purchases and product enquiries
โข Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately
โข Process cash, card and loyalty card transactions
โข Promote Clicks ClubCard memberships and rewards
โข Maintain merchandising and display standards
โข Replenish stock and maintain store presentation
โข Support promotional campaigns and special offers
โข Deliver professional customer service at all times
โข Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards
โข Assist with stock management and inventory control
โข Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies
Minimum Requirements
โข Grade 12 / Matric
โข Good communication skills
โข Basic numeracy skills
โข Customer service orientation
โข Computer literacy
โข Ability to work retail hours
โข Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Advantageous
โข Previous retail or customer service experience
โข Mathematics and English passed at Grade 12 level
