Overview
VANS V&A Waterfront is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Shop Assistant (Flexi) to join its retail team in Cape Town.
The successful candidate will assist customers, drive sales, process transactions, replenish stock and maintain high visual-merchandising standards.
This position is suited to someone with a genuine interest in streetwear, sneakers, extreme sports and youth culture, together with at least one year of sales experience.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
– Deliver excellent customer service throughout the shopping experience.
– Help customers select suitable products.
– Provide product knowledge, fashion and styling advice.
– Build positive relationships with customers.
– Promote VANS products and contribute towards store sales.
– Work towards individual and store sales targets and KPIs.
– Process customer transactions accurately.
– Replenish merchandise on the shop floor.
– Ensure products are correctly displayed and presented.
– Maintain high visual-merchandising standards.
– Keep the store environment clean, organised and welcoming.
– Develop strong knowledge of VANS products and collections.
– Represent the VANS brand, culture and values professionally.
– Support colleagues during busy trading periods.
– Assist with other reasonable store duties when required.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- At least 1 year of sales experience.
- Relevant experience within retail or a similar brand environment.
- Strong sales and customer-service abilities.
- A motivated and positive attitude.
- Genuine interest in the VANS brand.
- Interest in streetwear, sneakers, extreme sports and youth culture.
- Availability to work weekends and retail holidays.
- Ability to work within a flexible retail environment.
