Overview
Shoprite is looking for a dedicated Baker to join its bakery team in Maitland. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys baking and takes pride in producing fresh, high-quality bakery products for customers every day.
As a Shoprite Baker, you will prepare a variety of baked goods while following company recipes, food safety standards, and quality procedures to ensure customers receive fresh and delicious products.
Key Responsibilities
– Prepare and bake a variety of fresh bakery products, including bread, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods.
– Follow approved bakery recipes and production procedures.
– Ensure products meet Shoprite’s quality and presentation standards.
– Maintain excellent housekeeping, food safety, and hygiene standards.
– Plan and carry out daily production according to bakery schedules.
– Minimise waste while maximising product availability and sales.
– Monitor product quality and ensure customer satisfaction.
– Assist in training and supporting bakery assistants and new team members.
– Comply with all health, safety, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (completed or currently studying towards it).
- Previous experience as a Baker or Baker Assistant in a retail bakery environment.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation, and product presentation.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Passion for producing quality bakery products.
