Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting 8 Cashiers across multiple stores in South Africa. These opportunities are ideal for customer-focused individuals with cashier experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment. Successful candidates will provide excellent customer service, process transactions accurately, and help deliver a world-class shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
– Process customer purchases accurately using the point-of-sale system.
– Receive payments by cash, card, vouchers, and other approved payment methods.
– Deliver professional and friendly customer service.
– Promote loyalty programmes and current store promotions.
– Handle refunds, exchanges, and authorised returns.
– Ensure all merchandise is scanned and paid for correctly.
– Balance cash drawers and follow company cash-handling procedures.
– Report customer queries, compliments, and complaints to management.
– Maintain security standards and report suspicious activities.
– Assist with general front-end store operations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum of 6 months’ cashier or till operating experience.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
- Good numerical and cash-handling skills.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- South African citizen.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
- Reliable transport or residence close to the store.
