Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting 8 Merchandisers for stores across South Africa. These positions are ideal for individuals who enjoy retail, customer service, and maintaining attractive product displays. Successful candidates will ensure shelves are fully stocked, merchandise is presented according to company standards, and customers receive outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
– Replenish stock and maintain fully stocked shelves.
– Ensure products are correctly displayed according to store layouts and planograms.
– Rotate stock using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.
– Check expiry dates and remove damaged or expired stock.
– Report low stock levels and pricing discrepancies to management.
– Assist with stock counts and inventory control.
– Load and off-load stock safely when required.
– Keep shelves, displays, and storerooms clean and organised.
– Build and maintain promotional displays.
– Assist customers with product enquiries and resolve stock-related queries.
– Follow company health, safety, and merchandising procedures.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physically fit to lift and move stock.
- Reliable transport or residence close to the store.
- South African citizen.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year of retail or merchandising experience.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and FMCG retail.
- Product and category knowledge.
- Bilingual communication skills.
