Overview

Steers is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Delivery Driver (Scooter) to join its team in Gqeberha.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering customer orders safely, accurately and on time while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, works well under pressure and understands the importance of keeping food fresh during delivery.

You will also be expected to communicate regularly with dispatch staff, follow assigned delivery routes and ensure all orders are handed over to the correct customer.

Key Responsibilities

– Deliver customer orders safely and within the required delivery time.

– Ensure food remains fresh and in good condition during transportation.

– Communicate regularly with dispatch staff for updates and instructions.

– Confirm delivery addresses before starting each trip.

– Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.

– Use GPS and navigation systems where required.

– Obtain customer signatures or confirmation of receipt when necessary.

– Keep accurate records of completed deliveries.

– Load and unload orders carefully.

– Inspect the scooter or delivery vehicle before use.

– Perform routine vehicle checks and report any problems.

– Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers.

– Provide friendly and efficient customer service.

– Assist customers with delivery-related queries where possible.

– Report delays, delivery problems or customer complaints to the relevant supervisor.

Requirements and Skills

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • A valid A1 motorcycle/scooter driver’s licence.
  • Previous experience as a Delivery Driver, Driver or Delivery Assistant.
  • A clear criminal record.
  • Ability to work within approximately 40 km of the job location.
  • Good knowledge of road safety rules.
  • Ability to use GPS and navigation systems.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow routes and delivery schedules accurately.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle customer orders carefully and accurately.
  • A reliable and responsible attitude.
