Transnet is inviting applications for 90 General Worker positions within the Track Engineering Works (TEW) Department based in the Ermelo Area (Saaivater).

This opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking short-term employment within the railway infrastructure and maintenance environment.

Job Purpose

To ensure a reliable daily operation by assisting RNC Construction teams during maintenance and construction activities.

---

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks as assigned by Supervisors and Team Leaders

• Handle, load and offload construction materials

• Clean construction sites and working areas

• Remove and dispose of excess materials

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment

• Use hand tools and non-mechanised equipment as required

• Support maintenance and construction activities

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 9

Experience

• Minimum six (6) months relevant experience

Additional Requirements

• Physically fit and medically fit for duty

• Able to communicate in English

• Good work ethic and reliability

• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered
