Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 10 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a hostel, boarding school or institutional environment will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays where required.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Supervising male learners in the hostel.
  • Ensuring learner safety and wellbeing.
  • Assisting learners with daily living activities where necessary.
  • Monitoring learner attendance and movement within the hostel.
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with school policies.
  • Assisting with learner meals and daily routines.
  • Ensuring hostel rooms, bathrooms and common areas remain clean and orderly.
  • Reporting maintenance, disciplinary or welfare issues to management.
  • Supporting learners during evening study sessions and recreational activities.
  • Performing any lawful duties assigned by the School Principal or Hostel Supervisor.
