The South African Police Service (SAPS) is inviting applications for 5 Security Guard positions within the Technology Management Services (TMS) Division. These permanent government positions are based at SAPS Head Office, Pretoria.

Salary
R170 226 per annum (Level 3)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
-Grade 10 / Standard 8 / NQF Level 2 qualification
-Valid PSIRA Grade C Security Certificate or higher
-South African citizenship
-Proficiency in English and at least one other official language
-Be willing to undergo firearm competency training and maintain competency
-Valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage
-Relevant security-related training or experience will be an added advantage
-Be willing to work shifts, overtime and extended hours when required
Knowledge and Skills
Successful candidates should have knowledge of:
- Access control procedures
- Security legislation and prescribed security measures
- Emergency procedures
- Protection of Information Act, MISS and NISA
- Security equipment and visitor control procedures
- Good communication and customer service skills
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Control access to SAPS premises
- Verify employees, visitors and contractors before entry
- Conduct searches where required
- Patrol buildings and secured areas
- Guard government vehicles and equipment
- Inspect security equipment and facilities
- Report security breaches and suspicious activities
- Maintain security registers and ensure compliance with security procedures
