Overview

Premier is seeking a skilled and experienced Link Driver to join its Despatch team in Polokwane. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting products safely and efficiently between destinations, ensuring deliveries are completed on time and in full while maintaining the highest standards of road safety, vehicle care, and customer service.

This role is ideal for a professional Code 14 driver with extensive heavy vehicle experience and a strong commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

– Transport products safely and efficiently according to delivery schedules.

– Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults or mechanical issues.

– Complete vehicle inspection reports and ensure vehicles are properly refuelled.

– Load and off-load products, pallets, and related goods safely.

– Ensure all delivery documentation is accurate and completed correctly.

– Verify loads against delivery documentation before departure.

– Obtain signed Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation from customers.

– Maintain company vehicles and equipment in a clean and roadworthy condition.

– Comply with the Road Traffic Act, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and company policies.

– Ensure correct quantities of products are delivered to customers.

– Maintain excellent customer service and professional conduct at all times.

Requirements & Skills

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Valid, unendorsed Code 14 Driverโ€™s Licence.
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • 5โ€“10 yearsโ€™ heavy vehicle driving experience.
  • Experience operating Scania, Mercedes-Benz, and MAN trucks will be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good problem-solving and numerical skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Working Conditions
