Job Opportunity

SANParks is seeking a dedicated and reliable Room Attendant to join the team at Golden Gate Hotel and Chalets within Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service in guest accommodation facilities and public areas of the park.

Accommodation will be provided within the park.


Requirements

โ€ข Grade 12 or NVC Level 4

โ€ข 1โ€“2 yearsโ€™ work experience in public cleaning or a tourism environment

โ€ข Certificate in Public Cleaning will be an added advantage

โ€ข Hotel housekeeping or similar cleaning experience will be an added advantage

โ€ข Knowledge of First Aid

โ€ข Good hygiene and cleaning skills

โ€ข Ability to understand and communicate in English

โ€ข Punctual, neat and responsible

โ€ข Must comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations

โ€ข Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

โ€ข Must be willing to assist other departments when required by management


Main Duties

โ€ข Cleaning in and around chalets, including changing bed linen, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing furniture and emptying trash containers

โ€ข Cleaning public areas and guest facilities

โ€ข Reporting abnormalities and defects to the supervisor

โ€ข Controlling inventory items and ensuring adequate stock in chalets

โ€ข Reporting maintenance issues in the maintenance register

โ€ข Assisting in the laundry when required

โ€ข Delivering high-quality customer service at all times

โ€ข Managing and meeting customer expectations

โ€ข Addressing customer needs and concerns professionally

โ€ข Evaluating customer service standards and identifying improvements

โ€ข Responding to and anticipating guest requirements in a timely and courteous manner

โ€ข Planning, scheduling and prioritising daily tasks effectively

โ€ข Organising work to ensure efficient use of time and resources
