Salary: R369,915.00 โ R517,860.00 per annum
SANParks requires the services of a qualified and experienced Assistant Investigator within the Environmental Crime Investigations Unit. The successful candidate will support investigations into environmental crimes impacting SANParks and assist in strengthening anti-poaching and crime intelligence operations.
Minimum Requirements
-NQF Level 6 qualification in Policing / Conservation Management / Crime Investigation or equivalent
-Valid Driverโs License
-Minimum three (3) yearsโ practical experience in law enforcement, wildlife crime investigation, or anti-poaching
-Previous conviction experience
-Computer literacy
-Knowledge of relevant legislation
-Knowledge of environmental and criminal investigations
-Knowledge of crime intelligence and crime scene management
-Knowledge of stakeholder and financial management
-Strong investigative and analytical skills
-Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
-Ability to manage multiple tasks in dynamic environments
Added Advantages:
- Valid firearm competency
- Environmental Management Inspector (EMI) qualification
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and conduct investigations into environmental crimes affecting SANParks
- Support investigations for Level 1โ4 environmental crimes
- Assist with analysis of incoming intelligence reports for proactive and reactive anti-poaching operations
- Support corporate crime investigations where required
- Assist in crime scene reconstruction and tactical information analysis
- Contribute to the overall crime intelligence picture of SANParks
- Maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and role-players
- Compile investigation reports and assist with administrative documentation
- Support administration and reporting functions of the Environmental Crime Investigations Unit
