Overview
Thorburn Security Solutions is currently recruiting professional and disciplined Grade B Security Officers to join its growing security team across various Gauteng locations.
Successful candidates will assist in maintaining safe and secure environments across multiple sectors including residential estates, retail, logistics, corporate sites, education facilities, mining operations, and financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory & Security Duties
– Supervise and coordinate security operations on site.
– Conduct security briefings and assign duties to security personnel.
– Maintain discipline and compliance with site procedures.
Access Control & Monitoring
– Control entry and exit points for staff, visitors, and vehicles.
– Monitor CCTV cameras, alarms, and security systems.
– Conduct patrols, inspections, and perimeter checks regularly.
Incident & Emergency Response
– Respond quickly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents.
– Handle suspicious activities and security threats professionally.
– Prepare detailed incident and occurrence reports.
Client Service & Compliance
-Provide professional customer service to clients and visitors.
-Ensure compliance with company procedures and PSIRA regulations.
-Maintain professional conduct, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements & Skills
-Valid PSIRA Grade B certificate.
-Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
-Previous security industry experience required.
-Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
-Good communication and report-writing skills.
-Strong observation and problem-solving abilities.
-Ability to remain calm under pressure and during emergencies.
-Computer literacy including MS Office and reporting systems.
-Physically fit and willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
-Driverโs licence will be advantageous.
-Firearm competency for business purposes will be advantageous.
Working Environment
-Security officers may be deployed across various industries and sites.
-Shift work, weekends, and public holidays may be required.
-Professional appearance and conduct are essential at all times.
