Overview
Pick n Pay is recruiting a Security Officer for its Norwood store in Gauteng. This role focuses on retail loss prevention, asset protection and maintaining a safe shopping environment for customers and employees.
The successful candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day store security operations while strictly adhering to company security policies and procedures.
Purpose of the Role
To provide efficient and professional security services in line with Pick n Pay policies in order to prevent shrinkage and losses, while maintaining a courteous and safe retail environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Security qualification
- Minimum 2 yearsโ retail security experience
- Registered with SIRA/SOB (Grade C registration required)
- Own reliable transport
- Must be contactable at all times
- Willing to work flexible hours and shifts
Key Responsibilities
-Perform all security duties according to Pick n Pay policies
-Safeguard company assets and prevent stock losses
-Monitor the store environment and remain vigilant at all times
-Identify potential security risks and take appropriate action
-Ensure compliance with security procedures by staff and customers
-Follow correct emergency procedures when required
-Assist with alarm call-outs if necessary
-Liaise with senior management, external security providers and SAPS
-Evaluate security systems and recommend improvements
-Handle challenging customers professionally and calmly
-Maintain high visibility and alertness on the sales floor
