The South African Navy is recruiting Household Aids for Naval Base Durban and the SA Naval College in Gordon’s Bay. These are permanent government positions that require only a minimum ABET qualification, with no previous experience required.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
-A minimum ABET qualification.
–No experience required.
-Ability to communicate effectively in English.
-Basic knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
-Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
-Ability to perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Must be physically fit.
Added Advantage
Experience in:
- Housekeeping
- Domestic cleaning
- Laundry services
- Kitchen or galley cleaning
Duties and Responsibilities
Depending on the post, successful applicants will perform duties such as:
- Cleaning living quarters and communal areas.
- Cleaning communal bathrooms and ablution facilities.
- Laundry of linen and clothing.
- Cleaning galleys, dining halls and kitchen areas.
- Washing pots, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
- Cleaning galley equipment.
- Assisting with unloading and storing food supplies.
- Setting up and clearing dining tables.
- Assisting with basic food and beverage preparation.
- Performing general housekeeping and cleaning duties as instructed.
