The South African Navy is inviting applications for Messenger positions at Naval Base Simon’s Town. This is a permanent government opportunity that requires only a minimum ABET qualification, and no previous experience is required.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
-A minimum ABET qualification.
–No experience required.
-Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English.
-Basic planning and organising skills.
-Basic computer skills.
-Time management and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to operate office equipment such as photocopiers and fax machines.
-Basic knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
Added Advantage
The following will be advantageous:
- Driving ability and experience.
- Ability to obtain a Military Driver’s Licence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
- Assisting with basic registry duties.
- Sorting official and private mail.
- Faxing and handling documents.
- Ensuring the safekeeping of official documents.
- Delivering mail, files, parcels and documents to internal and external offices.
- Collecting mail and documents from various service centres.
- Updating document registers.
- Providing general messenger and administrative support.
