Job Opportunity
The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for Security Officer (X2) positions within its Gauteng operations.
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining security within Labour Centres and Provincial Offices, controlling access to government premises, safeguarding assets and information, and ensuring the safety of employees and visitors.

Minimum Requirements
โข Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
โข Grade C Security Certificate
โข Registered with PSIRA
โข Computer literacy
โข Good communication skills (written and verbal)
โข Interpersonal and conflict management skills
โข Problem-solving skills
โข Coordination and security management skills
Overview
The successful candidates will help ensure a safe and secure working environment by monitoring access to government facilities, conducting security patrols, protecting departmental assets and enforcing security procedures in line with government regulations and policies.
Key Responsibilities
โข Control access in and out of the Labour Centre or Provincial Office
โข Secure the flow of information and assets within the office
โข Conduct security patrols of buildings and office premises
โข Ensure the safety and security of employees and visitors
โข Conduct internal security investigations when required
โข Enforce departmental security rules and regulations
โข Monitor compliance with security procedures
โข Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures

โข Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS)

โข Batho Pele Principles
