Overview

The Shop Assistant Cashier will be responsible for assisting customers, processing sales transactions, maintaining store presentation standards, and supporting daily store operations.

The successful candidate should be passionate about customer service, have strong communication skills, and be committed to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

• Help customers locate products and answer enquiries

• Deliver a positive shopping experience

• Resolve customer concerns professionally

Cashier Duties

• Process customer purchases accurately

• Handle cash, card and other payment transactions

• Ensure accuracy when operating the till

• Follow company cash handling procedures

Merchandising & Store Presentation

• Ensure shelves are fully stocked and organised

• Maintain store cleanliness and appearance

• Assist with product displays and promotions

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages

General Store Support

• Assist with daily store operations

• Support team members when required

• Ensure company standards are maintained

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 10, Grade 11 or Grade 12 (Matric)

• Good communication skills

• Ability to work in a retail environment
