Overview

Restaurant opportunities are available for customer-focused Waiters, Waitresses and Service Ambassadors across 9 locations.

Successful candidates will help provide an excellent dining experience by welcoming guests, explaining menu options, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages, processing payments and maintaining clean and presentable dining areas.

These opportunities include permanent and fixed-term positions, with both full-time and part-time roles available depending on the location.

Key Responsibilities

– Welcome and seat customers in a friendly and professional manner.

– Provide menus and explain available dishes.

– Inform customers about menu items, specials and recommendations.

– Prepare and set tables with the necessary cutlery and glassware.

– Take food and beverage orders accurately.

– Capture orders using a Point of Sale (POS) system where applicable.

– Communicate orders accurately to kitchen employees.

– Deliver food and beverages to customers promptly.

– Check dishes, cutlery and glassware for cleanliness and proper presentation.

– Attend to customer requests and preferences throughout their visit.

– Provide bills and process customer payments.

– Clear used plates, glasses and cutlery from tables.

– Maintain clean and organised dining and service areas.

– Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate problems when necessary.

– Work closely with kitchen and restaurant employees during busy periods.

– Follow applicable food hygiene, health and safety regulations.

– Maintain high standards of customer service.

Requirements and Skills

Applicants should have:

  • Previous Waiter/Waitress or similar restaurant service experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to take orders accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Good teamwork and cooperation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise during busy periods.

  • Good personal hygiene and presentation.
  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work shifts, which may include weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Requirements

The following may strengthen an application:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Previous experience in casual or fine-dining restaurants.
  • Previous experience with restaurant brands such as Spur, Panarottis, RocoMamas, John Dory’s, The Hussar Grill, Casa Bella, Nikos Coalgrill Greek, Doppio Zero, Modern Tailors or Piza ฤ“ Vino.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Living within a reasonable travelling distance of the relevant restaurant.
