About the Woolworths Customer Assistant Driver Position
The Customer Assistant: Driver is responsible for supporting store operations through the safe and efficient transportation of stock and store equipment.
The successful applicant will also assist with stock dispatch and receiving while providing professional service to both internal and external customers.
This position requires someone who is reliable, organised, customer-focused and safety-conscious, with the ability to work under pressure and follow company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent NQF-level qualification is preferred.
- A valid Code 10 driver’s licence is essential.
- Previous driving experience within a commercial or retail environment is advantageous.
- Good customer service abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail, particularly when handling stock.
- Ability to comply with safety and hygiene standards.

As a Customer Assistant: Driver, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Transporting store stock and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Minimising damage to goods while transporting and handling stock.
- Assisting with accurate dispatch and receipt of stock.
- Keeping the assigned vehicle clean and hygienic.
- Following road rules and safe-driving practices.
- Planning daily activities to meet operational deadlines.
- Communicating professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Maintaining punctuality, good attendance and appropriate dress standards.
- Following Woolworths policies and operational procedures.
- Remaining calm and professional when dealing with pressure or operational problems.
- Keeping informed about store promotions, services and team activities.
