Overview
Faircape Life is seeking a professional, energetic, and customer-focused Barista / Waiter to join its hospitality team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, preparing high-quality coffee beverages, and creating memorable dining experiences for residents and guests.
The successful candidate will be responsible for beverage preparation, food and beverage service, customer care, stock management, and maintaining the highest hospitality standards across Faircape’s retirement village restaurants and healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
– Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and specialty beverages.
– Operate and maintain coffee machines and related equipment.
– Serve food and beverages professionally according to service standards.
– Assist residents and guests with menu selections and recommendations.
– Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive dining experience.
– Set up and prepare dining areas before service periods.
– Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout service areas.
– Replace table linen and ensure all service equipment is clean and presentable.
– Refill condiments, beverage stations, and restaurant supplies.
– Process orders accurately and report any billing discrepancies.
– Assist with stock control, inventory counts, and stock replenishment.
– Support private functions, special events, and hospitality activities when required.
– Comply with food safety, health, hygiene, and company policies at all times.
Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience as a Waiter in a restaurant, hospitality, or catering environment.
- Strong Barista experience is essential.
- Knowledge of food service standards and customer service practices.
- Basic wine knowledge will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, well-groomed, and customer-focused appearance.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever required.

Remuneration & Benefits
- Competitive market-related salary.

- Sunday pay at 1.5 times the normal rate.

Working Hours
- Approximately 16.25 shifts per month.
- Rotational shifts between 07:00 and 19:00.
- Monday to Sunday roster basis.
