Overview
Indigo Brands, a division of AVI Limited and one of Southern Africa’s leading manufacturers of personal care and beauty products, is looking for a dedicated Permanent Part-Time Cleaner to join its production team in Epping, Cape Town.
The successful candidate will help maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across production areas, equipment, utensils, and facilities to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
– Clean production areas, service plants, floors, walls, windows, and pipework.
– Sweep, mop, and sanitize work areas according to hygiene standards.
– Clean and sanitize production equipment, drums, utensils, vessels, and machine parts.
– Wash and maintain machine cooling system filters and water baths as scheduled.
– Clean drains and blending areas to maintain safe working conditions.
– Monitor and maintain cleanliness of outdoor yard areas.
– Prepare and weigh drums for production when required.
– Assist with machinery cleaning as instructed by supervisors.
– Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
– Report incidents, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
– Participate in continuous improvement, safety meetings, and housekeeping initiatives.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- 1โ3 years’ cleaning experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Knowledge of workplace cleaning and sanitation standards.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
