The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for seven (7) Cleaner Level 2 positions at Cullinan Care and Rehabilitation Centre.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced cleaners who have worked in a hospital or clinical environment and are looking to build a career in the public healthcare sector.

Job Overview
The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff. Duties include cleaning hospital wards, offices and surrounding areas, handling waste according to healthcare standards, maintaining hygiene supplies, and supporting daily hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
-Cleaning floors, walls, corridors and other hospital areas.
-Dusting furniture, beds, lockers, doors and door handles.
-Cleaning windows, window frames, curtains and blinds.
-Cleaning outside areas and ensuring the hospital environment remains tidy.
-Removing waste according to hospital standards.
-Cleaning refrigerators, microwaves, cups and ward utensils.
-Operating heavy-duty cleaning equipment safely.
-Using and controlling cleaning chemicals correctly.
-Reporting maintenance defects to supervisors.
-Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.
-Cleaning spills immediately to prevent accidents.
-Refilling soap dispensers, toilet paper, air fresheners and deodorising blocks.
-Collecting food and beverages from the kitchen for hospital wards.
-Packing and unpacking linen in the storeroom.
-Performing additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Minimum ABET Level 4, Grade 10 or Grade 12 (or equivalent qualification).
- At least one (1) year of cleaning experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read and write.
- Physical fitness to perform cleaning duties.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays and night duty.
- Honesty and reliability.
