Overview
Meridian Wine Distribution is seeking a Driver Assistant to join its distribution team in Sandton, Gauteng. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in logistics and distribution, with responsibilities including assisting drivers with deliveries, loading and unloading stock, and ensuring products reach customers safely and on time.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist the driver with delivering stock according to scheduled delivery routes.
– Load and unload products safely and accurately.
– Verify delivery documentation before departing on deliveries.
– Handle stock carefully to prevent damage during transportation.
– Confirm delivery details with customers when required.
– Maintain professional and respectful interactions with customers.
– Report customer concerns or delivery issues to the driver or supervisor.
– Follow delivery schedules and company procedures.
– Adhere to health and safety regulations during all delivery operations.
– Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Report accidents, incidents, or safety hazards immediately.
– Support compliance with transport and workplace safety standards.
– Participate in training and continuous development programmes.
– Assist team members to ensure efficient delivery operations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- 1โ2 years’ experience in a delivery, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move stock safely.
- Valid right to work in South Africa.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and in varying weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and customer-focused.
