Overview
The Capital Hotels and Apartments is looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Hostess to join the team at The Capital 15 On Orange in Cape Town. As the first point of contact for guests, you will play an important role in creating an exceptional dining experience by welcoming guests, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring outstanding service throughout their visit.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with restaurant or hospitality experience who enjoys working with people and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
– Manage restaurant reservations and seating arrangements efficiently.
– Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated.
– Maintain a welcoming and organised reception area.
– Coordinate with waiters and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
– Assist guests with enquiries and provide information about the restaurant and hotel facilities.
– Monitor table availability to maximise seating efficiency.
– Ensure guests receive prompt and attentive service throughout their visit.
– Support restaurant operations during busy service periods.
– Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in the front-of-house area.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and well-groomed presentation.
- Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Candidates relocating from outside Cape Town will be responsible for their own relocation costs.
