Overview
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is inviting applications for 2 General Worker: Stores positions at Groote Schuur Hospital. Successful candidates will support the hospital’s stores operations by receiving, issuing, handling, and delivering stock while maintaining a clean and organised stores environment.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist the Administration Clerk with daily stores operations.
– Receive, inspect, and issue stock to various departments.
– Deliver store stock and supplies to end-users throughout the hospital.
– Rotate stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
– Clean stores and non-storage areas within the main stores department.
– Assist in other stores sections when required.
– Answer telephone calls and respond to internal enquiries.
– Help maintain an organised, safe, and efficient stores environment.
Requirements
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Appropriate experience in a stores or warehouse environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift, move, and handle stock.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
