Overview
Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Shop Assistants & Cashiers (X2 Posts) to join its retail team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with customers, have a passion for retail, and are committed to delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
Successful candidates will assist customers, drive sales, maintain store presentation standards, and contribute to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities
– Deliver outstanding customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
– Assist customers in selecting products that meet their needs.
– Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
– Promote products, special offers, and add-on sales opportunities.
– Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, displayed, and replenished.
– Maintain high housekeeping and visual merchandising standards.
– Assist with stock counts, stock takes, and inventory control.
– Support the implementation of promotions and marketing campaigns.
– Minimise stock losses and safeguard company assets.
– Handle customer queries professionally in-store and telephonically.
– Report fast and slow-moving stock to management.
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Minimum 6 months retail experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Sales-driven and target-oriented mindset.
- Good merchandising and product presentation skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Reliable transport or the ability to work retail shifts.
- Honest, responsible, and dependable.
- Ability to multitask in a busy retail environment.
- Willingness to participate in training and development programmes.
