Overview

adidas is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented POS Specialist to join its Mall of Africa store team. This role is responsible for managing customer transactions efficiently, ensuring a seamless checkout experience, and supporting overall store operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining accuracy in all point-of-sale activities.

Key Responsibilities

– Process customer purchases, refunds, and exchanges accurately using the POS system.

– Handle cash, card, vouchers, coupons, and other payment methods.

– Ensure pricing accuracy when scanning products.

– Promote available payment options and customer loyalty initiatives.

– Cross-sell products and recommend add-ons to increase sales.

– Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.

– Issue receipts, refunds, and change accurately.

– Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient checkout area.

– Track transactions and report any discrepancies.

– Assist with merchandise replenishment and sales floor support.

– Perform general housekeeping duties within the store.

– Support customer relationship management (CRM) and customer satisfaction initiatives.

– Ensure all till documentation is completed and filed correctly.

Requirements and Skills

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • 2โ€“4 yearsโ€™ experience as a Retail Cashier, POS Specialist, or in a similar retail sales role.
  • Basic computer literacy and knowledge of POS systems.
  • Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills.
