Job Opportunity
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced Cashier to join its Bedford Square store in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate processing of transactions, maintaining cash control standards, and contributing to a world-class shopping experience for customers.
Overview
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing customer purchases, handling payments, promoting loyalty programmes, managing cash safely, and ensuring compliance with Dis-Chem’s customer service and security standards.
Minimum Requirements
โข Grade 12 / Matric
โข Minimum 6 months cashier or till operation experience
โข Computer literate (MS Office)
โข Sound numerical skills
โข Strong command of the English language
โข Basic customer service skills
โข Willing and able to work retail hours
Key Responsibilities
โข Adhere to Dis-Chem customer service policies and procedures
โข Establish professional relationships with customers
โข Report customer complaints and compliments to management
โข Be aware of current promotions and sales campaigns
โข Carry out Dis-Chem 5-Star Communication Principles
โข Manage cash flow and cash handling procedures
โข Process all customer purchases and payments accurately
โข Process refunds, exchanges, vouchers, cards, and approved payment methods
โข Process loyalty cards and partner reward programmes
โข Ensure all outgoing stock and items are correctly scanned and paid for
โข Secure cash and daily takings according to company procedures
โข Report suspicious behaviour or security risks
โข Assist customers with product and store-related enquiries
โข Adhere to all Dis-Chem security policies and procedures
