Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is inviting applications for a Cleaner position at its Head Office in Midrand, Gauteng.
This is a permanent, entry-level opportunity for applicants with Grade 12 (Matric). The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and professional working environment throughout the Dis-Chem Head Office.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
–Grade 12 / Matric.
-Ability to communicate in English.
-Good cleaning skills.
-Good customer service and communication skills.
-Attention to detail.
-Good time-management skills.
-Ability to take instructions and follow through.
-Trustworthy and honest character.
-Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
-South African citizenship.
-Driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
-Ability to meet the required criminal and credit clearance requirements.
An additional language will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
-Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Head Office.
-Clean communal areas daily.
-Follow established cleaning routines and procedures.
-Keep the canteen and restrooms clean and properly stocked.
-Remain available during operational hours to clean areas when required.
-Check refuse before disposal to ensure no products or valuable items are accidentally discarded.
-Vacuum meeting and training rooms daily.
-Vacuum other carpeted areas according to the required schedule.
-Dust desks, chairs, telephones, shelves, photocopiers and other office equipment.
-Ensure cleaning equipment is safely stored when not being used.
-Display wet-floor warning signs appropriately while cleaning.
-Follow workplace health and safety requirements.
-Monitor cleaning supplies in kitchens and bathrooms and report shortages.
-Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment and facilities to the Team Leader.
Customer Service Duties
The Cleaner will also be expected to:
- Be friendly and professional when interacting with customers and visitors.
- Assist customers with directions when required.
- Communicate clearly and politely with staff and guests.
- Resolve minor queries where possible.
- Refer matters requiring further assistance to the Team Leader.
