Overview
Meridian Wine Distribution is looking for a dedicated and reliable Driver Assistant to join its distribution team in Gauteng. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in logistics, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring products reach customers safely and on time.
The successful candidate will support delivery operations by assisting with loading, unloading, stock handling, customer deliveries, and maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
– Report for duty on time to ensure delivery schedules are met.
– Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
– Ensure products are packed securely to prevent damage during transportation.
– Verify delivery documentation and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.
– Assist with stock deliveries and collections according to delivery schedules.
– Ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
– Maintain professional and positive interactions with customers.
– Collect and record damaged, defective, or returned stock as instructed.
– Assist in keeping delivery vehicles clean and presentable.
– Conduct basic vehicle condition checks and report any issues.
– Report accidents, incidents, or delivery-related concerns immediately.
– Maintain company uniform standards and professional appearance at all times.
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 11 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse, logistics, or driver assistant role will be advantageous.
- Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence will be beneficial.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions and delivery procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Team-player with a positive attitude.
