Job Overview
The municipality is looking for dedicated individuals who will be responsible for operating water pumps and carrying out routine maintenance of pump stations and surrounding pump house facilities. Successful candidates will help ensure reliable water supply services while maintaining safe and efficient operations.
Preference will be given to applicants who reside close to the pump stations where the vacancies exist.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
-Operate municipal water pumps safely and efficiently.
-Perform routine maintenance of water pumps.
-Maintain pump houses and surrounding operational areas.
-Monitor pump performance and report faults.
-Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
-Keep pump stations clean and functional.
-Follow operational manuals and maintenance procedures.
-Assist with general water infrastructure maintenance when required.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 7 certificate.
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience operating or maintaining water pumps or similar equipment.
Skills and Competencies

- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
- Understanding of pump operation manuals.
