Overview
Transnet Freight Rail is recruiting 48 General Workers to assist construction and maintenance teams during railway electrification and infrastructure projects.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to gain experience in railway construction and maintenance environments.
Key Responsibilities
โข Carry out duties assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader
โข Handle, load and offload materials
โข Clean work sites and remove excess materials
โข Stack materials and maintain work areas
โข Sweep floors and keep sites clean
โข Clean tools and equipment
โข Use hand tools safely in construction environments
โข Support maintenance and construction teams
Minimum Requirements
โข Grade 9 or equivalent
โข OR 6 months relevant work experience
โข Physically fit and medically fit for duty
โข Able to communicate in English
โข Alert and safety conscious
โข Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be considered
