Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

-Be a South African citizen.

-Be proficient in English and one other official language.

-Have Grade 10 / Standard 8 / NCV Level 2 qualification.

-Hold a valid PSIRA Registration.

-Hold at least a Grade C Security Certificate.

-Not be declared unfit to possess a firearm.

-Be willing to complete firearm competency training.

-Be willing to work shifts, weekends and overtime when required.

-Relevant security qualifications will be an added advantage.

-A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Main Duties

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Access control at SAPS facilities.
  • Registering visitors, employees and contractors.
  • Conducting security searches.
  • Issuing visitor access cards.
  • Patrolling buildings and government premises.
  • Guarding government vehicles and equipment.
  • Monitoring security systems.
  • Reporting security incidents.
  • Protecting SAPS assets and facilities.
  • Maintaining security registers and records.
