Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for a Miller Assistant to join a grain milling operation in Gqeberha. The successful candidate will support the Head/Shift Miller in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality flour production while maintaining food safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist the Head/Shift Miller with daily milling operations.
– Monitor machinery to ensure efficient plant performance.
– Check flour quality and vitamin dosage levels.
– Assist with the maintenance of plantsifters, filters, and conveyors.
– Prepare moisture and quality control tests when required.
– Report equipment or production deviations to the Miller.
– Help prevent machinery blockages and production downtime.
– Operate the Mill SCADA system.
– Gain experience across the Silo, Laboratory, and Packing departments.
– Stand in for the Miller when required.
– Maintain housekeeping, hygiene, and food safety standards.
– Perform additional duties as assigned.
Entry Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric), preferably with Mathematics and Science.
- Milling qualification will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing and production environment.
- Ability to learn and develop technical milling skills.
