Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
-Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
-Clean driving record
-Previous experience as a light-duty driver or in a similar transport/logistics role
-Good knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations
-Good communication and teamwork skills
-Ability to follow instructions accurately
-Strong attention to detail
-Flexibility to work with changing schedules and routes
Experience in the automotive industry, basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, defensive driving certification and knowledge of the local area will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Safely transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Assist with loading and unloading
- Keep vehicles clean and report maintenance or repair requirements
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes
- Comply with traffic laws and company safety procedures
- Record and report transport delays, incidents or other issues
- Provide professional customer service to clients and colleagues
- Represent the VW brand professionally while performing duties
