Overview
Toys R Us & Babies R Us is looking for a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Cashier to join the Tyger Valley team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, delivering excellent customer service, and creating memorable shopping experiences for customers and their families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating point-of-sale systems, processing customer transactions accurately, promoting products and services, and ensuring customers receive efficient and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
– Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
– Receive and handle various payment methods according to company procedures.
– Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
– Assist customers with queries and provide relevant product information.
– Promote additional products, services, and special offers at the point of sale.
– Ensure merchandise at checkout areas is correctly priced and displayed.
– Maintain excellent housekeeping and merchandising standards.
– Assist with stock counts and stock-taking activities.
– Support promotional campaigns and sales initiatives.
– Help minimize stock losses and safeguard company assets.
– Follow all cash handling and point-of-sale procedures.
– Participate in training and development programmes as required.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.
- Minimum of 6 months retail experience.
- Reliable transport or ability to work retail shifts.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
