Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
–AET Level 4 / Grade 9
-Knowledge of plants and gardening techniques
-Knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations
-Ability to handle horticultural machinery, powered hand tools and appliances
-Basic literacy and numeracy
-Good written and verbal communication skills
-Good interpersonal skills
Candidates should be punctual, reliable, responsible, honest, friendly and team-oriented.
Duties
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and cleaning premises and surrounding areas
- Emptying dirt bins
- Watering gardens
- Pruning and trimming flowers and trees
- Mowing grass
- Removing weeds and garden refuse
- Applying insecticides
- Cultivating soil for flowers and trees
- Maintaining gardening equipment and tools
- Identifying and reporting malfunctioning equipment
- Repairing minor defects on gardening equipment and tools
