About the Role
As a Waiter/Waitress, you will be the face of the restaurant, providing friendly and efficient service to guests from the moment they arrive until they leave. You will take customer orders, serve food and beverages, assist with menu recommendations, process payments and help maintain a clean and welcoming dining area.
This role is suited to someone with excellent communication skills, a customer-focused attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
-Welcome and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
-Present menus and explain menu items to customers.
-Recommend menu items and daily specials.
-Prepare tables with tablecloths, cutlery, glassware and other dining essentials.
-Take food and beverage orders accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system or other approved methods.
-Communicate customer orders to the kitchen staff.
-Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally.
-Check meals before serving to ensure quality and presentation standards are met.
-Attend to customer requests and resolve minor concerns professionally.
-Present bills and process customer payments.
-Clear tables and return used dishes and utensils to the kitchen.
-Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the dining area.
-Follow all food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
-Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress.
- Good English communication skills.
- Ability to travel to work within 20 km of Krugersdorp.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required.
Experience in casual or fine dining restaurants will be an added advantage.
